I was born in Mainz, Germany. I became a Fellow of the German College of Surgeons in 1994 and completed my training as a Trauma Surgeon in 1997. The same year I went on to specialise in hand surgery, training at the Centre for Hand Surgery at Bad Neustadt in Germany under the direction of Professor Ulrich Lanz, acknowledged as one of the most eminent hand surgeons in the world.
I was working in private practice in Frankfurt for over eight years, and since early 2005 have been working in England, based in Salisbury and Southampton. In 2008 I was awarded the European Diploma of Hand Surgery.
In 2009 I moved to Britain in order to work full-time as a hand surgeon. At New Hall Hospital I founded a private practice to be known as The Wiltshire Hand and Wrist Clinic in conjunction with consultant cosmetic and plastic surgeons.
I am a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, and a Fellow of the British Society of Surgery of the Hand, as well as being registered by the GMC on their Specialist Register in Surgery.
I have published a number of papers on Hand Surgery, co-authored with Professor Lanz. My interests in hand surgery are wide-ranging and I frequently travel abroad to visit other surgical centres and attend symposia, often as an invited speaker because of my special interest in Surgery of the Wrist.
